It doesn’t matter what your religion or philosophy is, mental health is a real topic and must be addressed with the same strictness than physical health.
Current health state of our society
We live in a society. A working system that is as effective as the engines behind it, which are us. Individualism is day to day increasing, due to several worldwide issues and conditions, that push many individuals to take care of themselves only. Many think the world has no way of being saved anymore, so they rather focus on their material well-being before a possible crash happens. But this is not how a society should work.
Precisely because of this way of think, things don’t get better, and because things don’t get better more people turn to individualist thinking and behavior. It seems to be a never-ending cycle. Nonetheless, it is possible to end it. The possibility of making a gradual change in the world exists and starts by oneself.
Importance of the balance of mental, spiritual and physical health
Let’s address the issue of mentally unhealthy individuals in a society. It affects the same way a virus does. An unhealthy individual, besides directly affecting others (mass shooters, robbers, rapers), also cause harm in less direct ways (toxic relationships or friendships). Many of them don’t want to be helped. Many of them don’t care. Some people may even say that for them it’s too late.
But it’s not too late for you! Taking care of yourself doesn’t only contribute to the society, but highly helps you to be happier and therefore more able to thrive. I’m not talking about mental health only focused on mentally-illed individuals, the best we can all do is prevent, before it becomes critical.
Ensuring a good mental health, makes it harder for you to get seriously sick in a physical way. Some mental conditions like depression can cause serious effects on a person: inflammation, chronic pain, heart diseases, etc. What does this mean? You should take care of your mental health not only for the sake of it, but to prevent yourself of carrying serious physical diseases.

How, then, can we achieve a balance to keep ourselves healthy?
There are some basic things we can have in mind in order to preserve our integral health. The two most important are: a proper nutrition and an active physical activity.
When referring to having a proper nutrition, we don’t mean making diets, turning yourself into vegan or having to say goodbye to carbs (we know this is hard for everyone). A well-balanced nutrition is simple to achieve if you know how much of certain foods your body needs.
A proper nutrition is important and vital to make sure the body functions correctly. Healthy eating, specially the right fruits and vegetables is also beneficial for your mental health. It’s been proved by many relevant health sources, like the Australian & New Zealand Mental Health Association, that specific foods can make a significant change in the chemicals on your brain, therefore, improving your mental health.
Active physical activity
With the increased popularity of fitness lifestyle, it has become a known fact that exercising, besides giving you a good-looking body and keeping your physical health, makes a significant boost in your mental health. We can mostly thank the endorphins for this.
Endorphins aren’t the only “feel-good” chemicals released through exercising, though. Your body will also produce serotonin, norepinephrine, BDNF and dopamine, the reward chemical. All of which have huge positive benefits for the mind. Either it’s an exercise routine or at least walking, riding bicycle, running, dancing, making pilates; doing something to keep your body moving more than suggested is necessary.
So, where does mental, spiritual and physical health come together?
Spiritualism and mental health are often put together, even if they are two different things. However, it does make sense to talk of it as a whole since they two take action in the same part of our body: the brain. Spirituality is a complicated topic because it can’t be easily generalized. There are so many religions, ideologies, philosophies, etc., that most people find it hard to address the topic without offending others.
We don’t believe talking about spiritualism should get anyone offended, though. Spiritualism maintains a main essence: giving humans a state of enlightenment , bliss and purpose. Both Christians and neo-pagan worshippers, as an example, have similar morals and rules that focus on the well-being of nature (creation), other people (brothers or equals) and oneself (a temple).
Spiritualism isn’t for everybody, and it should never be forced, however, I can assure you it’s real and it works. Basically, it’s like having a boost. Believing in an outer power, either it’s energies, a god, vibrations; gives you an extra “brain locker”, which you can open on emergencies.
Spiritual and physical health play an important role together, when we acknowledge spiritualism like a help instead of just a way of thinking. And why not? The mind is powerful and just the fact of believing someone or something looks up for you and helps you, you might immediately feel with more strength or motivation.
How can we help you achieve spiritual and physical health?
If you feel like you need further assistance regarding mental health, we advise you to go to the nearest hospital and request it. Remember, that it’s better to prevent! We are not psychologists or psychiatrists, so we cannot further assist you in that topic. In the other hand, what we can surely do is giving you tools to feel more ease and inner peace, which many times can help treating a mental illness.

Our main collaborator, Maria Linero partnered with our physical trainer, Carlos Perez, decided to campaign a healthy living style, focusing on spirituality to achieve self- consciousness and consequently, self-improvement. As spiritual and physical health must be seen as a whole, the recommendation of properly nutrition according to each person’s mechanism, as well as responsible training, are part of the concept of maintaining a balanced life.
Spirituality and self-knowledgement
With the use of different methods like meditation, astrology knowledge as a tool to self-consciousness, movement of bodies energies, synchronization with the environment and some other practices, we can help you be in the right track of achieving spiritual fulfillness. Knowing yourself is the start point to making a change. We cannot change what we don’t know is wrong.
Physical health assistance
Using a more dynamic method, our trainer and nutrition counselor Carlos, dictates tailored trainings, accompanied by tips on a healthy nutrition based on the person’s goal: gaining or losing weight or just keeping themselves healthy in all senses. His methods are mostly based on the belief of connecting with nature to achieve a higher physical state.

You can opt for starting with spiritual counseling. Some find necessary to make internal healings before being able to focus on other topics. It makes absolute sense. You could also prefer to focus on nourishing your physical health. No matter what you choose to start with, both of our counselors will help you in both aspects evenly, since our main idea and concept is the importance of balancing both the spiritual and physical health.
